Compare risk and opportunity
A knock is a timing choice, not simply a race to the lowest deadwood. First total your unmatched cards using the values shown by the game. Then check whether your melds are stable, whether a discard could complete a flexible run, and how much information the opponent’s visible choices provide. A small deadwood total can still be vulnerable to an undercut; continuing can improve the hand but gives the opponent another turn. Use the mode’s exact knock threshold and scoring before deciding, and treat discard clues as probabilities rather than certainty.
